The National Earth Science Museum is the central public geological museum in Namibia. It is run and maintained by the Geological Survey of the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

The largest geological selection in Namibia is shown in different sections. They deal with the mining areas of Namibia, e.g. Tsumeb, Rössing Uranium, Navchab gold mine and Rosh Pinah. The Tsumeb section alone covers more than 225 different minerals and semi-precious stones. A popular section shows the raw materials with some of their final products, e.g. ceramics. NAMCOR, the state-owned petroleum and oil companies has a section that deals with the oil and gas explorations in Namibia.

Furthermore, the museum shows many fossiles; some of them approx. 750 million years old. A 200 million years old Massospondylus (dinousaur) is the largest exhibit.
